We were tasked with this unique requirement to engineer a system for testing the integrity of heavy vehicle exhaust fans. The main challenge lies in integrating both a mechanical and hydraulic fan driving system in one compact machine which needs to be shielded for operators’ protection.

To confine these fans which have extremely high cfm, there must be meticulous considerations on the high air intake requirement and destructive wind forces. The system tests the fan to its maximum rotational speed output via optical sensing. A sound meter also monitor the mechanical noise generation to track bearing or assembly defects
